Athletics
The Athletic Department here at MWMS is an integral part of the total education process. These programs are a continuation of the classroom and serve to teach and reinforce life values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, hard work and sacrifice.
Each and every day, our programs will continue to encourage our student athletes to strive to be great on and off the field of play, hoping that one day they will take lessons learned and make them a productive member of society.
A completed athletic packet, including a current physical, must be turned in before a student can attend try-outs. Once the team roster is finalized, all student athletes who successfully made the team will need to pay the Pay-2-Play fee before the first game. Athletic packets can be found here and are also available in the front office.
Barrow Brainbook Concussion Education Course
The Barrow Brainbook Concussion Education Course is a free, web-based training program developed by the Barrow Neurological Institute to educate student-athletes about concussion prevention, recognition, reporting, and recovery. The course teaches athletes how to identify the signs and symptoms of a concussion, emphasizes the importance of reporting suspected injuries immediately, and explains safe return-to-play and return-to-learn protocols. It is the concussion education program required for Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) student-athletes before participating in interscholastic sports.
